Funny Computer Term of Dumb Person
We all know that humor is a great way to deal with stress, and there's plenty of stress to go around when you work in IT ... am I right? But how can you chase the tech blues away, and what input can bring forth a humorous laughing output?
Perhaps a clue can be found in the wise words of a Hollywood legend. Cinema genius Alfred Hitchcock once said, "puns are the highest form of literature." And who doesn't love playing with words, twisting their meanings to delight and amuse?
In previous "computer confusion" articles, we poked fun at tech phrases that are a double entendre, that is, clever puns that mean something else if you take the definitions literally. In those whimsical writings, the Spiceworks Editorial team came up with a lot of puns and punchlines. But in the comments, a whole lot of you shared your own hilarious tech puns.
To highlight some of the best user-submitted jokes, this post features IT puns from SpiceHeads that mean something different when non-tech-savvy users take them literally. Thanks to everyone who contributed, and enjoy!

Sound Blaster
Not a giant cannon designed to make a loud noise, or one of those old-school boomboxes dancers used to carry around in the 1980s (remember Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo?), in computing Sound Blasters were old-school, add-in sound cards that let you play realistic sounds or music — via DarrelDarrel

Not a second or third motion picture that continues the storyline of your favorite movie (that's usually worse than the original), SQL is a language that allows for retrieving and manipulating information contained in a database. SELECT * FROM puns WHERE funny = true — via akrytus
